Subject: Protect Ukrainians Displaced by Russia’s War

Dear Representative / Senator:

I am your constituent, and I urge you to protect Ukrainians who lawfully sought safety in the United States because of Russia’s war.

Approximately 510,000 Ukrainian nationals are living in the United States under various temporary statuses, including nearly 240,000 who entered through Uniting for Ukraine. Many are working, paying taxes, supporting their families, and contributing to American communities, but they remain unable to return safely while Russian attacks continue.

I respectfully ask you to:

1. Urge DHS to recognize and implement the statutory six-month TPS extension through April 19, 2027, formally extend TPS for an additional 18 months, and redesignate Ukraine so Ukrainians who arrived after August 16, 2023 may apply.

2. Direct USCIS to expedite pending TPS, U4U re-parole, and Employment Authorization Document applications; prevent interruptions in employment authorization for timely filers; and align EAD validity with the underlying TPS or parole period.

3. Support reopening U4U to eligible sponsors and beneficiaries and reissuing travel authorizations to Ukrainians approved before the program was suspended.

4. Support interim protection from removal for Ukrainians with valid parole, TPS, or pending applications who pose no public-safety threat.

5. Advance durable legislative protections. Please cosponsor the Ukrainian Adjustment Act (H.R. 3104) and the Protecting Our Guests During Hostilities in Ukraine Act (H.R. 2118 in the House, S. 696 in the Senate).

6. Restore Refugee Support Services and Transitional and Medical Services funding and provide clear federal guidance to employers and state agencies.
